fun at the doctor's
for the next couple of days i will be sitting in bed recuperating. this afternoon i had a very uncomfortable procedure for a man, a vasectomy. we have 3 kids and could not handle another. we have had too many scares so i finally toughened up, bit the bullet and had the procedure today. the doc gave me a prescription for a valium to relax me and told me to take it about an hour before the appointment. the appointment was for noon so as we were driving there i popped it about 11:30. heather and i sat in the waiting room and at 12:15 i was feeling REALLY good. still no sign of them calling me in i walked up to the front desk and asked if they forgot about me. she said no that they were setting up. about 12:30 she finally called us in.
now my doctor's office is run by st joseph's, a catholic hospital that does not allow vasectomies so they had to take us up to the 4th floor where st joe's leases out to a different doctor that is not apart of the church. very weird i know but finally we get up there and they put me in a room ask me to strip down and wait for the doctor. by this time its almost 1 o'clock and the effects of the valium have completely worn off. heather stayed in the room with me to give me moral support which was actually pretty good cause the doctor told her everything i was supposed to do afterwards. as he prep'd me, i felt very awkward. the procedure took all of about 20 minutes. the most uncomfortable part was when he gave me the shot to numb me, i about jumped out of my skin. i am now back at home lying in bed with an ice pack on, which i will be for the next 2-3 days. i have been here for about an hour and am already bored out of my mind. i am sure i will be posting a lot of random things in the next couple of days so be prepared.
